About Thomas

In his first career, Thomas Schwarz was Squadron Commander of x G 71 “Richthofen” in the German Airforce with the Rank of Lieutenant Colonel. As military professionals retire at the age of 41 Thomas chose a second career as implementation manager of Project Portfolio flow in multi-project organisations.

The taste for supersonic speed, which Thomas developed in jet fighters, predisposed him to the Project Portfolio flow methods on the strategic level of project organisations. Thomas also masters agile and scrum techniques for team-level project execution.

Thomas is a natural leader. This is his personal opinion on leadership: In my many years of leadership experience, I have had the privilege of working with many people. Many have left an impression. However, the most influential for me was the advice of my flight instructor on the Phantom, US Major Rick Bates (2x deployment to Vietnam): “Make a decision and stick to it”. What may seem a bit premature at first in today’s analytical and reasoned philosophy of life, has left its mark on me. I think that the decisions we don’t make in time or don’t make at all are much more critical than the one possibly wrong decision.

Thomas is happily married and is the proud father of a grown-up daughter. Thomas lives in Messkirch. He likes to repair fast cars and enjoys slow food.
